I can’t believe today is March 1st already! Is it just me or does it feel like this winter actually kind of flew by!? Sure is fine with me! I am so looking forward to Spring. I feel like the house is looking a little bland and can’t wait to throw in pops of color, flowers, fresh greenery, and everything else in between. I love how the smallest details can really bring a home to life, and Spring time is such a fun time to implement that. I’ve thrown in a few pictures of details I enjoy having through out the house in this “end of winter” stage, and once Spring hits I will post some more pictures of what I have done to change a few things up! What are some favorite things you do in your home to bring it to “life” during new seasons!?
^ I made this little rack last summer for realllll cheap and will do a little post for anyone interest on how to make one. It was so easy!
Hope you are all enjoying these last few weeks of winter!
I got a cold a few days ago. Tried my best to keep as sanitized as possible so Luca boy wouldn’t catch it. But unfortunately baby bear caught his first ever bug. Amazed at how joyful he still always seems to be. Not only does he have a cold, but has some major teeth coming in. So for the next few days you can sure bet he is getting all the extra cuddles and hugs and kisses and love until the whole family is back up on our feet.
Luca is turning 9 months this week! It doesn’t even seem real. Life is so interesting. But it got me thinking of how quickly is first birthday is going to sneak up on me! Time to start brainstorming! I want to throw him such a fun filled little birthday party. I’ve been realizing that parenting is so much of wanting your children to “experience.” To learn, to see new things, to feel new feels, to hear beautiful new sounds, to learn new emotions, to explore all that this world has to offer. I want his first birthday to be a day for him that he just gets to “experience.” Gosh, I love birthday. They are so special. A day to celebrate the amazing human being that you are, to honor all you have come to be, and to remember how much you mean to so many of those around you. Let the brainstorming commence for this mama bear.
I’ve been trying to hold of as long as I possibly could to start putting up some fall decor, but today I finally caved in. Fall is my JAM, so I’m feeling excited to get the house looking a little festive! The three EASIEST fall decorating tips to just get you started and what I started out with today?
- Buy ALL of the pumpkins. Put then Inside. Outside. On shelves. On the counter. Anywhere! Get a variety- Different colors, shapes, sizes. They will look cute anywhere. Even those “ugly” pumpkins can look cute!
- One of the literal easiest things to do to make the outside of your house look a tad more inviting and festive is to throw a wreath on the door. Make one out of dried goodies, buy one at Michaels or probably literally any other store in the world at this time of year, and slab it on your door and you’re good to go.
- Get all of the mums. Same as those cute little pumpkins- put them inside or outside. Apparently having them inside also helps cleanse the air in your home from pollutants!
Almost everything in my home is used and from thrift stores. I love the thought of items being used over and over by families before me. There is a story to them. I may never know their story, but I love looking at items in my home and knowing that they have had a history. With that being said, Most thrift stores will often have a “seasonal section.” Always check these out before you head to to other stores if you’re on the hunt for some new fall decor!
